A friend of mine suggested writing a macro to do this with the cells formatted to text, which may be easier, but I'm not familiar with writing macros. There should be enough information in here to help anyone that needs to deal with MAC addresses in Excel. Finally my brilliant colleague worked out a convoluted formula, but hey, it works! In my case, my company is manufacturing Ethernet circuit boards for a product that we make, and we have to create our own, consecutive, MAC addresses. Adding the analysis add-in made no difference. It did work for numbers written only in decimal numeric characters. (Hello? Microsoft?) Using HEX2DEC did not work for hex numbers with ABCDEF digits. It is not necessary to have MIKE ZERO installed to run the tool. However, it may save a simplified version of the converted HEC-RAS geometry file.
The free version allows the user to evaluate the tool. The x-section raw data file must have been exported with MIKEZERO working in SI /default units. The user must specify the MIKE11 network (nwk11) and cross section (xns11) raw data files, and then select some of the available options before running the tool. However, this is only a first stab at the procedure to get an equivalent HEC-RAS model, since further manual adjustments are necessary. This conversion tool may be extremely helpful to perform the most tedious parts of the process, while reducing the chances of human error during the alternative time-consuming manual conversion. This specifically allows the conversion of MIKE11 network (nwk11) and cross section (xns11) files into a corresponding HEC-RAS geometry (*.g00) file. This tool helps to convert a MIKE11 model into a HEC-RAS model.
